The Mediterranean Odyssey Trip Of A Lifetime With Viking

Hi Everyone!   So my hands are still a little shaky after making the final payment for my Mediterranean cruise next April!   I had to let go of some serious coin but you get what you pay for.

Last summer I researched all the luxury cruise lines and chose Viking.   The main reason I chose Viking is because it’s all adult.   Then I chose based on the itinerary.    This cruise is to celebrate my 50th birthday, gasp… and I wanted a more adult atmosphere.  I don’t have anything against kiddos, heck…. I’m a Gigi.   I love kids!   But for this cruise I wanted to relax and explore in a more organized way.

We will be gone 18 days total with pre and post excursion stays and this itinerary packed in the most diverse stops.  I still can’t believe I am going!   What a great 50th birthday trip.   Check out the itinerary below.

Mediterranean Odyssey ~ Viking Ocean Cruises

We spend three days in Venice before we leave.   I’m still planning all the excursions.  My list of must see’s is super long!

The Viking Sea ocean cruise ship in Venice, Italy.

The Viking Jupiter

We will be on one of Viking’s newest ships, the Viking Jupiter. If you’ve never seen the staterooms and amenities on a Viking ship, you’re missing out.    Just look at the stateroom I booked.   I booked the Penthouse Jr. Suite.   All of Viking’s staterooms have balconies.   Bonus!

The Rest of the Ship

I’ve included a few photos of the rest of the ship for you to see also.   These ships are packed with multiple gourmet restaurants, they even have a daily afternoon tea!   I mentioned amenities before but check out this partial list…..

  • One Complimentary Shore Excursion in every port
  • Unlimited free Wi-Fi
  • Multiple dining venues including alternative restaurant dining & afternoon tea
  • Enrichment lectures and destination performances
  • 24 Hour room service
  • Beer, wine and soft drinks with on board lunch and dinner
  • 24 Hour speciality coffees, teas and bottled water
  • Access to top rated spa and state of the art fitness center
  • Self service launderette (laundry service is free with our room category)
  • All Port taxes and fees
  • Airport transfers with Viking Air purchase

This is by no means an all inclusive list of everything Viking offers.  I’ll cover all of their greatness in April on my daily posts!

Why I became a part time Travel Agent

Normally I’m just selling and flipping houses so I can travel.  But a friend of mine showed me how to become a travel agent so I can get commission on my own travel and get super cheap hotel rates at very nice hotels.  I didn’t have to think about it too long before I decided it was a good idea.  The reason I’m mentioning this is because in May next year, I’ll get a sweet commission on this trip too.   See, no brainer!

Plus, I get to use all of Vikings Travel Agent photos for this post too.   Just another benefit for my blog.

My Home for 14 Days Next April

Next April I will be living in paradise.   It’s always been my dream to take a Mediterranean cruise.   I just had to wait 50 years to do it.   These are just a few of the amazing places on the ship.

The Restaurant dining table on-board the Viking Sea

Lounge chairs and heated salt pools inside the Viking Sea Spa

Viking Star Infinity Pool

The Wintergarden lounge area on-board the Viking Star

Have you been on a Viking Ocean Cruise?   This will be my first.   I’m planning on making good use of the free Wi-fi and posting on my blog everyday.   If you want to know what life is like on a Viking cruise, subscribe to my blog and you will get notified when I make my posts!
