How To Save A Fortune Visiting Castles in England

When budgeting for a vacation abroad every expense counts.   But there are always a few expenses that slip through the cracks and we forget to include them.   One expense that can add up fairly fast is admission to castles, abbeys and other historic sites.

English Heritage Oversees Visitor Pass

Not to worry, there’s a non UK resident pass you can purchase that covers free admission to over 100 English Heritage Sites.   These passes can be purchased in advanced and are activated on the date of first use and are good for either 9 or 16 days, depending on the pass purchased.

All you have to do is print out your voucher and present it with your passport or Drivers License (they will accept a copy) and the credit card used to make the purchase at your first English Heritage Attraction.  They will exchange your voucher for your official Pass.  This pass can then be used at all future attractions for the duration of visit or until expiration.

Let’s just compare the admission to Stonehenge vs. the English Heritage Oversees Visitor Pass.   You can literally save $100’s on your next vacation to England using this pass!

Savings Comparison

Admission to Stonehenge is £19.50 per adult and £11.70 per child, or you can get a family ticket for £50.70.   The cost of a 9 day English Heritage Oversees Visitor Pass is £57.00 for two adults, £33.00 for one adult or £62.00 for a family pass.  The cost of the 16 day pass increases only £10.00 for the family and two adults pass and £6.00 for the single adult pass.   You only need to visit two sites before you’ve recouped your money and the rest are just pure savings.

The prices quoted above are the actual costs for the 2018-2019 tourism season.
